Convicted sex offender faces additional child sex crime charges

LUDINGTON — A 28-year-old man serving a 25-year minimum prison term for first-degree criminal sexual conduct  — victim under age 13 — faces additional child sex crime charges in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court.

Bradley Curtis Drake was sentenced by Judge Susan K. Sniegowski to a mandatory minimum prison term of 25 years to a maximum of 60 years, May 28, after a jury found him guilty.

Currently lodged in the Alger Correctional Facility in the Upper Peninsula, Drake appeared in court via video conferencing Tuesday, Dec. 10, for a trial conference regarding the eight additional charges he faces. He is charged in two separate cases that are scheduled for trial June 26-28, court records state. His pending charges include: first-degree CSC, using a computer to commit a crime and child sexually abusive activity in one file; and unlawful imprisonment, using a computer to commit a crime, child sexually abusive material, interfering with electronic communications and domestic violence in another file.

His conviction for which he is serving the prison term stems from a Jan. 1, 2021 incident, court records state. His charges in the other two files stem from offenses that allegedly occurred Jan. 1, 2022 and Nov. 26, 2022.

Another trial conference in the case is scheduled for Feb. 25 at 10:20 a.m.
