Benito Hernandez, Jr., 67, of Ludington, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

Benito, often referred to as Bones, Junior, or Benny, was born on October 28, 1957, the son of the late Benito, Sr., and Enedina (Guerrero) Hernandez. He attended Ludington High School. On November 1, 1979, he married Virginia (Ramirez) Hernandez. Due to ongoing health issues, he worked at Nickelson Tree Farm on and off from his high school days until 2021.

Benito loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved grilling for everyone in the summer. He also liked listening to music and going for rides. He was always willing to help family and friends out. He will be missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Benito is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia Hernandez; daughters, Lisa (Rob) Castonia, and Sarah (Josh Kozicki) Strzynski, both of Ludington; grandchildren, Scott Hernandez, Robby Castonia, Tristan Castonia, Kiley Strzynski, and Jaylyn McNeely; great-grandchildren, Kolten and Madalin Hernandez; brothers, Rey (Mary) Hernandez, and Teddy (Cheryl) Hernandez both of Ludington; sisters, Gloria Villarreal and Linda Ibarra of Ludington; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Benito was preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Enedina; sisters, Mary and Patricia; and twin brothers in infancy, Jesse and Joseph.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
