WSCC continues college completion coach program

WSCC News is a presentation of West Shore Community College in partnership with Mason County Press. 

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — West Shore Community College has announced its continuing partnership with the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN) and AmeriCorps to bring a dedicated college completion coach to campus. This role is part of MCAN’s College Completion Corps, which places trained coaches on campuses throughout Michigan to support student success.

The completion coach at West Shore will work one-on-one with a cohort of 100-150 students, focusing on individuals who are first-generation, low-income, or students of color. The coach’s mission is to support college persistence and completion through personalized success plans, resource connections, and barrier reduction. Acting as a mentor, cheerleader, and advocate, the completion coach is essential in helping students navigate their academic journey.
