Rotary Auction to celebrate 25th year

November 21, 2024

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — Tickets are available online now for the Rotary Club of Ludington’s 25th Annual Holiday Auction scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Lincoln Hills Golf Club.

In addition to a full meal, those attending the live auction gala will be able to bid on more than 170 silent auction items and 10 live auction items and packages as diverse as a dog sled ride in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula from Nature’s Kennel, to a stay including golf on Mackinac Island, fine wine, fishing charters and close to home, a New Year’s Eve Ball Drop package, a Cartier Mansion stay for two couples with dinner, a grill and meat package and a bouquet of flowers every month for a year.

Tickets at $50 each are available here.

There, one can also begin bidding on silent auction items on Thursday, Nov. 28 and continue bidding right up through the close of the live auction during the gala.

“It’s amazing to think that this is our club’s 25th annual Holiday Auction,” Michelle King, Rotary Club of Ludington president, said. “The auction is such a critical fundraiser for us, and the Mason County community has been tremendously supportive over the years,”

“The money we raise at the Holiday Auction is invested 100% in our community. The Rotary Club of Ludington manages the STRIVE (high school mentoring) Program, the Interact Club (a Rotary high school youth service club), our Third Grade Dictionary Program (in Ludington, MCC and MCE Schools), Scholarships for Ludington High School and West Shore Community College students, the Mason County Sheriff Award, and upgraded electrical and internet service for the Sable Lighthouse Keepers Association, as well as other services in our Mason County communities.

“Just this fall, our club partnered with our Rotary District 6290 to purchase iPads to be used by the seniors in our communities, kept and managed by our area senior centers.”

Dale Horowski will serve as emcee of the event. Jac Russell will again be the auctioneer.

“The Holiday Auction Gala, held each December, is very well known as an important investment in our own community. We have a lot of fun with good food and friends, a silent auction of donated items and experiences, and a live auction that, honestly, is just a blast with Jac Russell as our esteemed auctioneer.  It’s a lot of fun.”
