Judith Alma Rozell, 83, of Free Soil, formerly of Lansing, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Mom was born on December 1, 1940, in Free Soil, to the late F. Andrew M. Rozell and Mary G. (Brown) Rozell. She graduated from Haslett High School in 1958. Later in life, in 1990, she earned her associate degree in accounting from Lansing Community College. In 2003, after 38 years, she retired as the assistant vice president and branch Manager at Chase Bank. At the time of her retirement, Mom’s branch was ranked number three out of more than 1,800 branches across the country. Mom was a member of UMC, Kiwanis, Red Hats, and a lifetime member of Mason County Historical Society. She was also a member of Zonta, and Marqui’s Who’s Who of American Women.

Mom was a past president of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church Women’s Group, past president of South Lansing Kiwanis, and co-chair of Playground Project at Hawk Island County Park in Lansing. She was involved in many other community projects and found ways to also include her grandchildren in these activities.

Mom was “Mom” to many. She was known for her baking and cold sides. Her cheesecake, potato salad, coleslaw, and German chocolate cake, were always requested at get togethers.

Judith is survived by her son, Andrew, and wife, Mary; grandson, Zachary Ruff; granddaughter, Stephanie; nephew Randy (Becky) Siedletz of Ohio; niece in-law Carol Siedletz and her son Troy Siedletz, of Newaygo County; numerous cousins; and many friends she always thought of as family.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Mary; sister, Betty Siedletz; nephews, Bill Siedletz, and Gary Siedletz.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, from noon to 1 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with a funeral service at 1 p.m.. Judith will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery in Okemos.
