Marlene Donley

Marlene McDonald Donley passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024 surrounded by her loving children. She was born on October 28, 1933, in Pontiac to Guy and Audrey McDonald, then moved to Reed City with her family. Marlene graduated from Reed City High School in 1951. After, she joined the Marine Corps for two years before being honorably discharged.

Marlene married Jim Donley on July 16, 1954, and were blessed with four children: Jim (Rosalee) Donley, Deb (late Jerry Fulmerhouser), Monique (Dan Zelinski), and Guy Donley; as well as her special niece, Debbie (Rich) Lee. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Kimberly (Carl), Bobbie Jo (Josh), and Jimmy. Danny (Emma), Josh, and Jon. Alex (Clark), and Megan (Chase) and 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Marlene is survived by siblings Gen Kadwell, Yvonne Peterson, Marie Eastman, and Ken (Toni) McDonald.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents Guy and Audrey, her in-laws Howard and Esther Donley, sister Ilene Taylor and brother John McDonald, as well as her special lifelong friend Yvonne Anzaldua.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at noon at Hersey Cemetery.
