CUSTER TOWNSHIP — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a suspect who allegedly punched another man in the face during a a road rage incident Monday, Nov. 11, shortly before 7 a.m. on US 10 near Darr Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“The complainant alleges the suspect passed his vehicle and repeatedly ‘brake checked’ him,” said Sheriff Cole. “The complainant — to separate himself from the situation — turned off of US 10 onto Darr Road. The suspect followed, and walked up to the complainant, who was attempting to call 911. The suspect reportedly then punched the complainant in the face, knocking him to the ground, causing the victim to lose his glasses and cell phone. The complainant was able to get back to his vehicle and flee the scene.”

The suspect is described as a “stocky” black man in 40s who was wearing a blue sweatshirt. He was driving a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Nissan.

“The victim did have a cut to his face that was a result of the assault,” said Cole.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Jared Ingle of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office at (231) 843-3475, extension 183.
