Jack Wygant

Jack Lee Wygant, 75, of Ludington, died Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 18, 1949, in Haslett, the son of Donald and Virginia “June” (Hook) Wygant.

Jack moved to Ludington in 1989 where he operated his own charter boat “Jimmy Jack” and was known to many as Captain Jack.  In his spare time, Jack loved hunting, fishing and doing pretty much anything outdoors.  He was also an active member of CrossRoads Church.

On June 22, 1974, in Williamston, Jack married Muriel Irene Nicol, who survives him.  He is also survived by: three sons, John Wygant, Jason Wygant, and Eric (Jessica) Wygant; nine grandchildren with one on the way; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Gloria (Bruce) Dircks and Delores (Bill) Blackmer; his brother, Tom (Jan) Wygant; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, Russ Wygant; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Duane and Marcella Nicol.

Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2024, at CrossRoads Church in Scottville, with Pastor Rich Chasse officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until time of services.
