Mack Nickelson

Mack Emil Nickelson, 40, of Ludington, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Mack was born to Howard (Bud) and Donna Nickelson on October 3, 1984. He graduated from Ludington High School after completing homeschooling, in 2003. He loved the outdoors! He painted many pictures of his home on the Lincoln River. He was self-taught playing his guitar and became a natural. He loved fixing things for his mom and dad. He could read something and fix it, one of his latest projects was rebuilding the coil boxes on his dad’s Model T. Just by watching his dad drive the Model T., Mack figured out almost immediately how to drive it. He had the kindest heart to anyone. His mom and dad were so proud of him, he was smarter than anyone ever known!

Mack was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard and Vera Nickelson; paternal step-grandmother, Agnes Nickelson; maternal grandparents, Robert W. and Frances Nash; uncle, William W. Nash; and sister, Mindy Le Adams.

Mack is survived by his parents, Howard E. and Donna Nickelson; sister, Ella (Kevin) Damkoehler; brother, Rick (Ginger) Taibl; nieces, Morgon Cox-Patterson, Miranda Mooney, Madison Mooney, and Ava Damkoehler; nephews, Mason Damkoehler, Nelson Damkoehler, Kole Damkoehler, Reid Damkoehler, Alec Dotson, and Isiah Gypson; aunts, Julie (Dan) McDonald, Jeanie (Larry) Anderson, Barbara (Bob) Macksam, and Char Schultz; and uncle, Bob (Linda) Nash. He is also survived by numerous cousins, his best friend, Kyle Butler, and his beloved jack russell puppy, Happy Nickelson.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
