Self-proclaimed “professional beach bum” Wayne Dewyer of Ludington is on his next adventure, a coast-to-coast motorcycle trip. From time to time, Wayne has been updating the readers of MCP about his journey. You can also follow him by subscribing to his YouTube channel, The Wayne Diaries here.

Well hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed the travels of the professional beach bum from the past. I took a winter off to save money to finance this winter’s new adventure. I have purchased a 1992 Honda Goldwing Motorcycle to travel on this winter.

Wayne and his daughter.

I started out from Ludington on Sept.13 and headed to the state of New York, the Finger Lakes to be exact. The weather was beautiful and I so enjoyed upstate New York as I have before. I visited Letchworth State Park and filmed some of the falls.

After visiting my daughter for a few days it was on to Philadelphia, Penn to work and help out at a farm that I have worked at before. I have been helping with the farm’s fall festivities including driving the tractor for hay rides. The weather has been so nice with fall colors starting to show up.

I will be at the farm for three weeks then it’s on to Raleigh, NC, where I will visit my son for a week.

After North Carolina I will continue down the east coast to Florida where I will spend a month or so traveling and visiting friends. I will venture down to the Keys, Key West to be exact. No trip is complete unless one visits Key West.

I have been camping in my tent as much as possible and enjoying cooking on my stove or over the fire. The freedom of life on a motorcycle is very hard to describe.

I have heard it said that vehicles lie to us but a motorcycle tells us the truth. I remember coming along Lake Erie in Pennsylvania and I could smell the grapes that were being harvested for the wineries that exist there. The smell was so sweet and refreshing I just couldn’t get over it.

My life is like a dream sometimes with winding roads and the people I meet along the way. Homer was right, it’s not the destination it’s the journey that makes for an adventure.

If you like this little story, follow my adventures on youtube at thewaynediaries/youtube.com I will be writing my little story of the adventure at least once a month.
