David Andrew Tuinstra, 72, of Ludington, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 19, 2024. David was born in Ludington to parents Lester and Betty (Todd) Tuinstra, on September 18, 1952.
David graduated from Ludington High School with the class of 1971. After graduation David moved to Kooskia, Idaho, where he took a job in the sawmills and met Becky McLean who became his wife. They welcomed their daughter, Cheri, in 1979.
David eventually took a job as a field technician, working to build nuclear power plants in the states of Washington and Illinois. He returned to Ludington 12 years ago and enjoyed his retirement cheering on the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and the Wolverines.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Ron and Randy.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheri Tuinstra of Springfield, Ohio; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Lynn (Dave) Woodworth of Grand Rapids, and Leslie (Steve) Ewing of Ludington; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
