LUDINGTON — A 55-year-old man was sentenced to four concurrent prison terms in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Aug. 20, for felony convictions of analogues possession, methamphetamine/ecstasy possession (two counts) and bringing contraband into the jail.

Ricky Lee Hendrickson pleaded guilty to the charges in the two separate criminal files, June 11, according to court records. Hendrickson was prosecuted as a second-offense habitual offender.

Judge Susan K. Sniegowski sentenced Hendrickson to the following: meth possession — two to 15 years with credit for seven days served in jail; bringing contraband into the jail — two to seven and a half years with credit for seven days served; meth possession — two to 15 years with credit for five days served; and analogues possession — one year and one day to three years with credit for five days served.

Hendrickson’s attorney Horia Neagos asked Judge Sniegowski if his client, who was out on bond, could delay beginning his prison sentence for one week so he could take care of his mother who recently had surgery. “He’s her primary caregiver,” said Neagos.

The judge denied the defense attorney’s request. Because Hendrickson is under the jurisdiction of the Michigan Department of Corrections, the judge said it was not within her authority to grant the request.

Hendrickson has 23 prior misdemeanor convictions and four prior felonies, said the judge.

Sentencing guidelines in the case are 19-47 months.

Hendrickson was also ordered to pay $266 in fines and costs.
