Jim Clymer

James Clyde Clymer, 76, of Ludington, formerly of Dyersburg, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

Jim was born on October 14, 1947, the son of the late James Monroe and Viva Oleta (McDaniel) Clymer. He graduated from Evertt High School and started working as a pre-press operator at Michigan State University shortly after graduation. While working, he had joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas; Libya, North Africa; and Web Air Force Base in Big Springs, Texas. While actively serving, on April 27, 1968, he married his forever love, Linda Carol (Ritter) Clymer. On January 15, 1971, Jim was honorably discharged.

Jim attended church online at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Hamlin Township. He enjoyed woodworking, music and fishing. He was also an avid knife collector and was always making people laugh with his weird humor and goofiness.

James is survived by his wife, Linda Clymer; daughter, Tonya (Tyler) Jackson; son, Matthew (Angela) Clymer; sister, Linnie Berryhill; grandchildren, Cody (Skyler) Clymer, Lauren (Joseph) Benson, Emily (Darren) Harvey, Sydney Clymer, and Hayley Clymer; uncle, Klyce (Paula) Clymer; and six great-grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe Clymer, and Viva Oleta “Punkin” Clymer; a brother; a sister; and two aunts and nine uncles.
