Logan Township fire millage renewal passes

LOGAN TOWNSHIP — The Logan Township fire millage supporting Carr Area Fire Department passed 76-17.

The millage was for .8412 mill, levied for 20 years from 2025 to 2044 and will raise an estimated $27,637 the first year.

Ballot language:

Shall the expired previously voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution, in Logan Township, of 1.00 mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) reduced to 0.8412 mills (0.84 per $1000.00 of taxable value) by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at up to 0.8412 mills ($0.84 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) and levied for 20 years, 2025 through 2044 inclusive, for fire protection within Logan Township, raising an estimated $27,637.27 in the first year the millage is levied.
