Jean Argue

Jean Arlene Argue, 93, of Scottville passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

Jean was born on February 13, 1931, to William and Edith Olson in Ludington.

She attended Ludington Area Schools and graduated with the Ludington High School class of 1949. Jean retired from Oakview Medical Facility after 17 years of service.

Jean married Ralph Duane Claveau in 1949 and had two sons: Mark and Wayne Claveau. After separating with Ralph, Jean married Larry Thomas Argue in 1963 and had one son, David Argue.

Jean loved visits with family and friends and loved to visit Lake Michigan. Jean loved to travel, play porker, dominos, trips to the casinos and Scottville Senior Center tours. Jean was a past member of the Ludington Boat Club

She is survived by sons Mark and Marlene Claveau, David and Kellie Argue; grandchildren, Jeff Claveau, Jason Claveau, Shawn Claveau, Justin (Marie Kapeller) Argue, Megan (Kyle) Hansen, Devon (Donna Honneycutt) Argue, Heather (Ian) Holewinski, Tyler (Emma) Claveau; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her sister Judy Stever; sister-in-law Linda Olson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Larry Argue; her son Wayne Claveau; grandson Aaron Claveau; siblings, Harold and Muriel Olson, William Olson, Evelyn and Everette Smith, Robert Olson, Hilda and Ivan Johnson, Dorothy and Lewis Darke, Alvin and Bonnie Olson, Willard Olson, Gary and Viola Olson; and brother-in-law Ronald Stever.

Jean will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.

A special thank-you to Jennifer Pomeroy and her staff at Willowbrook Care AFC in Scottville, and Hospice of Michigan in Ludington, for the wonderful care given to Jean over the past 11 months.

Per Jean’s wishes there will be no services but a small private graveside service for the immediate family.
