12-year-old boy apprehended for brandishing air soft pistol

LUDINGTON — A 12-year-old Ludington boy was apprehended by Ludington police for brandishing a “realistic looking” air soft pistol in the 300 block of East Melendy Street Thursday afternoon, July 25, said Capt. Michael Haveman of the Ludington Police Department.

“A juvenile petition form was completed, and the case was turned over to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office,” said Cpt. Haveman. The boy was released to his parents, and no one was injured.

Thursday, July 25, 2024:

  • 11:53 a.m., a 44-year-old homeless man was arrested on a warrant issued by Muskegon County’s 60th District Court, 300 block of East Court Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 6:03 p.m., a 56-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested on a two-count felony warrant on charges of insufficient fund checks issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court, 200 block of West Ludington Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Saturday, July 27, 2024:

  • 2:07 a.m., a 38-year-old Ludington man was arrested following a traffic stop on a warrant issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court, Stearns Park, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 7:27 p.m., a 57-year-old homeless man was arrested on three felony warrants issued by Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court for failure to appear on charges of child abuse, controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine, near Loomis and Robert streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Tuesday, July 30, 2024:

  • 12:09 p.m., a 52-year-old Ludington man was cited for disturbing the peace – loud music following numerous complaints and warnings of loud music being played from his vehicle, Stearns Park, City of Ludington.
