Sheriff endorses Hand for prosecutor

Dear Editor,

It is with great honor I write this letter of support for Mason County Prosecutor Beth Hand as she seeks to win your support in the upcoming election for Mason County Prosecutor.

Recently, as I was attending an evening meeting I received a call that appeared on my cell phone as “Prosecutor’s Office.”  The call was around 7:30 p.m.  My first thought was “why is the prosecutor’s office calling me at 7:30 p.m.?”  I took the call to hear Prosecutor Hand’s voice.

We discussed a case the sheriff’s office was working and when finished I asked her why it was she was still at work.  Prosecutor Hand told me she was in until midnight the previous night reviewing cases and prepping for court hearings and would likely be in the office until 9:30 or 10 this night.

In an office funded for three prosecutors, Prosecutor Hand has largely worked alone since receiving the appointment in June  while she tries to fill the other two positions and campaign to win your support.  However, make no mistake, while she could have been out knocking on doors or holding campaign events, she was in her office working for victims of crime.

Make no mistake Prosecutor Hand has been in the arena fighting for 30 years!  It is this work ethic, drive for justice, and commitment to victims that has earned her the support from all the police unions that represent your local law enforcement.  And is why I proudly stand alongside her.
