The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Thursday, July 4, 2024:

  • 5:20 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 47-year-old Niles woman was arrested for larceny after a report of a stolen bicycle at Stearns Park, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 7:47 p.m., (LPD), a 41-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs following a traffic stop near Robert and Filer streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 9:08 p.m., (LPD), a 35-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Filer Street near Rath Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Friday, July 5, 2024:

  • 12:15 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), a 26-year-old Grand Rapids man was cited for driving while license revoked following a traffic stop, US 10 and Stiles Road, Amber Township.
  • 1:12 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 11:30 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Free Soil Road west of US 31, Grant Township.
  • Noon, (MCSO), three-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • Noon, (MCSO), vehicle slide-off — no damage/no injury, US 31 freeway near the Ludington rest area, Summit Township.

Saturday, July 6, 2024:

  • 7:16 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road west of Schoenherr Road, Sherman Township.
  • 9:33 a.m., (LPD), a 32-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant for truancy issued by the the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, 400 block of Sixth Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 12:25 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Scottville Road south of Kinney Road, Eden Township.
  • 4:48 p.m., (LPD), a 57-year-old Ludington man was arrested for domestic assault, 900 block of North Washington Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 5:40 p.m., (MCSO), a 39-year-old Ludington man was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting a disturbance, Wildwood Trail, Amber Township.

Sunday, July 7, 2024:

  • 4:12 a.m., (LPD), a 24-year-old Branch woman was arrested for public intoxication, 900 block of Lawndale, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 4:33 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 south of the Ludington rest area, Summit Township.
  • 10:42 p.m., (MCSO), ​a 69-year-old Scottville man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Oceana County, 100 block of South Quarterline Road, Amber Township.
  • 11:24 p.m., (LPD), two people were arrested and on person was cited following a traffic stop near Nelson Road and Tinkham Avenue, City of Ludington. An 18-year-old Free Soil man was arrested for a contempt of court warrant issued Manistee County, and he was turned over to Manistee County Sheriff’s Office to be lodged in Manistee County Jail. A 21-year-old Idlewild man was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and was lodged at the Mason County Jail. A 19-year-old Fountain man was cited for driving on an expired license.

Monday, July 8, 2024:

  • 3:34 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 and Beyer Road, Sherman Township.
