Obituary: Nina Clark, 86, formerly of Ludington

Nina Myrtle Clark, 86, of the Kalamazoo Area, formerly of Ludington, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Masonic Pathways in Alma.  She was born March 17, 1938, in Flint, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Kerr) Payne.

Nina was self-employed as a seamstress and tailor at Nina’s Tailor Shop in Portage for over 25 years until her retirement in 2006.  She crocheted thousands of baby bonnets and hats for several area hospitals as well as blankets for cancer patients.  In her spare time, Nina enjoyed square dancing.

Nina is survived by: her children, Cathy (Martin) Pierman, John (Kim) Clark, and Richard (Amber) Clark; four grandchildren, Garrett Pierman, John Clark III, Ryan Witzel, and Alexa Rhoads; two great-grandchildren, Rilee Rhoads and Zaydin Rhoads; three sisters, Laura Michaels, Lucille Patten, and Nancy Payne; and several nieces and nephews.

Nina was preceded in death by: her husband, John “Jack” Clark in 1979; her parents, Charles and Helen Payne; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Curtiss and Anna Clark; her brother, Irving Payne; her sister, Phyllis Payne; and her niece, Judy Allard.

Graveside services will be held at noon, Monday, July 8, 2024, at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
