AMBER TOWNSHIP —A 68-year-old Ludington man was arrested by a Mason County sheriff’s deputy following a 911 call reporting a “suspicious person” call in the 2000 block of West US 10 Saturday, May 25, at 9 p.m.. “It was reported that a male subject was walking around houses knocking on doors and looking in vehicles,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
“A responding deputy located the suspect in a driveway pulling plants out of a yard and placing them in a backpack,” said Sheriff Cole. “When the deputy made contact and attempted the arrest, the suspect resisted by fighting being handcuffed.”
The man was arrested on charges of larceny and assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
