MCC graduation still scheduled for tonight
SCOTTVILLE — Water service in the City of Scottville and much of Amber Township has been shut down due to a water main breakage along US 10-31 west of Stiles Road. As a result, water pressure in the city and the township has been reduced to almost minimal. Mason County Central Schools will close at 1 p.m. The school has sent out notifications to parents through its messaging system. Water customers are being asked to keep water usage down to a minimum until the issue can be resolved.
According to Justin Coolman of the Scottville Department of Public Works, the breakage was caused by a subcontractor working in the area. Coolman said the Scottville water tower has already been drained and a timeline on repairs is unknown at this time.
MCC graduation is still scheduled for tonight, the school reported. Bottled water will be provided and there will be port-johns on site, if needed.
