Teen seriously injured in motorcycle crash

LOGAN TOWNSHIP — A 16-year-old Sparta boy suffered serious injuries after the motorcycle he was operating on private property flipped over backwards, ejecting him Saturday, May 18, shortly before 4:30 p.m., ​in the 5000 block of East Sippy Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Tuesday, May 15, 2024:

  • 7:58 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 37-year-old Manistee woman was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), US 31 and Fountain Road, Sherman Township.

Friday, May 17, 2024:

  • 6:32 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Scottville Road north of Chauvez Road, Custer Township.
  • 2:30 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle rear-end crash, no injury, US 10 east of Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 3:07 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle rear-end crash, no injury, US 10 east of Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 4:52 p.m., (MCSO), retail fraud, Walmart, West US 10, Pere Marquette Township. The suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot, but the property was recovered. The case remains under investigation.
  • 9:15 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Schoenherr Road south of Fisher Road, Sheridan Township.
  • 9:23 p.m., (MCSO), a 45-year-old Fountain man was arrested on three criminal bench warrants for failure to appear and one civil bench warrant for failure to appear, 1700 block of Maggie Street, Branch Township.

Saturday, May 18, 2024:

  • 12:31 a.m., (MCSO), ​a 22-year-old Manistee woman was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting an assault, 3100 block of Sass Road, Grant Township.
  • 6 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Victory Drive west of Victory Corners Road, Victory Township.
  • 6:01 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, U S31 northbound on-ramp north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
  • 6:02 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.

Sunday, May 19, 2024:

  • 1:24 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
  • 6:30 p.m., (MSP), a 20-year-old Bitely man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant, US 10 and Tyndall Road, Branch Township.
  • 8:35 p.m., (MSP), a 53-year-old Shelby woman was cited for DWLS, US 31 and East Sable Road, Free Soil Township.
