Ann Louise (Nelson) Kasley, 58, of Ludington passed away at her home on Friday, March 15, 2024. She was born, in Ludington, on January 10, 1966, the daughter of Charles and Sandra (Lange) Nelson.
Ann graduated from Ludington High School and attended Central Michigan University, where she obtained a degree in education. She received her master’s of education degree from Grand Valley State University. Ann loved reading and she shared this love with the children she taught. She was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist with Ludington Area Schools until her retirement in 2013.
Ann married David (Marc) Kasley on March 20, 2004, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ludington. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She was a wonderful sister, mother, wife and friend. She rejoiced in watching her children grow and loved them fiercely. She was thrilled to become a grandmother for the first-time last year.
Ann will be forever missed by her husband, Marc Kasley; her children; Madeleine (Matthew) O’Callaghan, Markus Kokx, and Owen Kasley; siblings: Andy Nelson, Molly (Brent) Conklin; grandson Wade O’Callaghan; in-laws Doris Kasley, John Kasley and Susan (Tom) Sniegowski; former husband Mark Kokx; her closest friends Meagen Kucaj and Ingrid Paletscheck; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandra and Charles Nelson, and father-in-law, Samuel Kasley.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 3 p.m. at the amphitheater at the Ludington State Park with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor would be appreciated to either Lakeshore Animal Friends or the PoWeR Bookbags program.
