Hail, damaging winds and then snow forecasted

Enjoy the warm weather while you can today, because two rounds of storms Tuesday, Feb. 27, are expected to bring hail and damaging winds. Then, temperatures are expected to quickly drop, transitioning to a wintry mix followed by snow Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids.

“Two rounds of storms look possible tomorrow,” states NWS. “The first round will occur early tomorrow morning just after midnight and into daybreak, and the second round will be tomorrow evening. Hail will be a concern with both rounds, and damaging wind gusts will be an additional concern in the second round of storms. 

“Temperatures will quickly drop after midnight Wednesday morning, and precipitation will gradually transition into a wintry mix through daybreak.” Then, all snow is forecasted by mid-to-late morning Wednesday.
