Winter weather advisory issued for Thursday morning

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a winter weather advisory for several counties, including Mason County, from 4-11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15.

Total snow accumulations of 3-6 inches are expected.

“The snow will be heavy at times with rates possibly reaching an inch per hour,” states NWS. “It will be a heavy wet snow, so isolated power outages may occur. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Plan on extra time to reach your destination.”

Other counties included in the advisory are Oceana, Lake, Osceola, Clare, Newaygo, Mecosta, Isabella, Montcalm and Gratiot.
