Obituary: Patricia Hernandez, 71, of Ludington

Patricia Ann Hernandez, 71, of Ludington, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Corewell Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, surrounded by her family. She was born August 30, 1952, in Ludington, the daughter of the late Benito and Enedina (Guerrero) Hernandez Sr.

Patricia worked at Whitehall Industries, in Ludington. She also worked for many years as a bilingual aide for Mason County Central Schools.

Patricia married Robert Hernandez on October 23, 1971, in Ludington at St. Simon Catholic Church. The two shared a beautiful marriage for 41 years until Robert’s passing in 2012.

In her spare time, Patricia was an energetic Zumba dancer. She also enjoyed reading, listening and dancing to music, crossword puzzles, cheering on her family at their sporting events and cooking/baking for her family. Her real joy was interacting and spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Patricia is survived by her sons, Ernie Hernandez of Ludington and Alex Hernandez (Michelle) of Chicago; grandchildren, Tyler, Zoe, Cameron and Hanna; siblings, Ray (Mary) Hernandez, Gloria Villarreal, Teddy (Cheryl) Hernandez, Linda Ybarra, and Benito (Virginia) Hernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hernandez; her parents, Benito and Enedina; sister, Mary and her twin brothers in infancy, Jesse and Joseph.

Service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m.

The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington.
