Obituary: Sandra James, 77, of Ludington

Sandra “Sue or Sandy” D. James

Sandra D. James, 77, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Corewell Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, surrounded by her children.

Sandra was born in Detroit on September 10, 1946, the daughter of John and Louise Ivancik. She attended Ludington High School. On June 3, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Edward “Eddie” James.

Sandra worked as a dishwasher/cook at Wally’s and Airport restaurants.

She was a girl scout leader, 4-H leader, president of South Hamlin School PTC, helped at Epworth or any activity her children were in and needed to help.

Sandra enjoyed camping, cooking and baking outdoors over an open fire, Sunday road trips, and spending time with her family.

Sandra is survived by her children, Anisa James and Nicholas James; siblings, Patricia Schultz and Roland Ivancik; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; infant daughter, Cindy Ann James; and siblings, Jacqueline Elsner and Louis Ivancik.

Sandra has been laid to rest next to her husband and daughter at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
