Obituary: Ronald Christensen, 69, of Ludington

Ronald William Christensen, 69, of Ludington, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023.

Ron was born on January 22, 1954, the son of George and Grace (Rieckhoff) Christensen. In 1972, he graduated from Ludington High School. After graduation he continued his education at Ferris State College (now Ferris State University). Ron worked at Dow Chemical as a journeyman millwright.

In Ron’s earlier years he enjoyed fishing with his children, Heather, Shane, and Jim. He and his daughter, Heather, also shared a special bond watching WWF wrestling. Ron also enjoyed many days on the lake pulling his kids on tubes, skis, and knee boards. Ron was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed watching motocross whenever it was on.

Ron is survived by his sons, Shane (Abby) Christensen of Sault St. Marie, Mich., and Jim Christensen of Ludington; sisters, Sue (Fred) Upthegrove, Karen (Denny) Winters, Diana (Dennis) Tacktor, all of Ludington; grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor and Briseis; and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, George, and Grace Christensen; daughter, Heather Christensen-Hoffman; niece, Becky Campbell; and nephew Adam Tacktor.

A private family service will be held at a later time.
