Obituary: LaVerne Beeman, 77, of Scottville
LaVerne Jay Beeman, 77, of Scottville, formerly of Muskegon, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the presence of his wife and children. LaVerne was born on November 13, 1945, the son of Frank Devere Beeman and Alice Louise Horton. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1964-1967. On July 10, 1971, LaVerne married Catherine (Garey) Woodring at St. Thomas Church of Muskegon. Through his wedded bliss, LaVerne became the father of two young sons (ages 3 and 5).
In his free time, you could find LaVerne hunting, woodworking, or spending time in his garage. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family and his dogs.
LaVerne is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Beeman; brother, Tom (Nancy) Beeman; children, Robert Woodring Jr, Shane Woodring, Tonya (Jeff) Moore, and Tammy Beeman; grandchildren, Travis Woodring, Kody Woodring, Cheyenne Woodring, Joshua Moore, Tristen (Jace) Locklear, and Mercedes Rodenbeck; and several great-grandchildren.
LaVerne was preceded in death by his mother, Alice (Louise) Beeman; father, Frank Beeman; brother, Terry Beeman; and sister, Arlene Skuse.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in LaVerne’s honor can be made to the Mason County Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
