Community Foundation scholarship program accepting applications

The Community Foundation for Mason County’s scholarship application is open and accepting applications until February 1. Last year, over $289,000 in scholarships were invested into students’ futures.

The Community Foundation manages scholarship funds started by donors who wish to support students in continuing their education. There are awards based on a variety of factors including academic achievement, community involvement, extracurricular activities, field of study, and financial need. Scholarships are not just for college; there are awards for technical and trade school, as well as for adult students starting college or completing a degree after a break from high school.

Scholarships are awarded once per year. To be eligible, the applicant must be a resident of Mason County and a graduate of a Mason County public or private school. While many scholarships are for specific types of students, colleges, or fields of study, the process is a general application. Each individual application is reviewed and matched with the best-fitting scholarship source. All students planning to continue their education are encouraged to apply.
