MCC announces homecoming court, activities

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central High School has announced its 2023 Homecoming Court and spirit week activities, which will take place the week of Oct. 9. Homecoming queen candidates include seniors Jayden Baker, Aylin Davila, Riley Mast and Emily Adams. King candidates include seniors Owen Shimel, Dakota Sterley, Brayden Overmyer, and Ryan Budzynski. Junior representatives are Heidi Hofmann and Peyton Merz; sophomore representatives are Ellen Haner and Tyler Norton; freshman representatives are Lexie Sanford and Pierce Bladzik. The queen and king will be crowned during halftime of the homecoming football game against Shelby High School on Friday, Oct. 13 at Spartan Community Field.
An assembly on Monday, Oct. 9 will kickoff the homecoming spirit week activities. Themes for the week are: Monday, pajama day; Tuesday, teacher look alike day; Wednesday, color day; Thursday, farmer day and Friday, Spartan Country Day (blue and gold day).
A tractor parade will take place on Thursday, Oct. 12 beginning at 2:45 p.m. Tractors and other vehicles will parade from the high school then to Scottville Elementary, the middle school and upper elementary before returning to the high school.
The homecoming parade will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13. The parade begins at the intersection of Main and Second streets and will travel north on Main Street, then west on Beryl Street to Spartan Community Field. The football game begins at 7 p.m.
The homecoming dance will take place in the high school cafeteria on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 8 to 11 p.m.
