VIDEO: Fire damages Victory Twp. house.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Fire severely damaged a house at 1363 W. Fountain Rd. Saturday evening. Six fire departments responded to the call that was initially dispatched at 9:52 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighting units discovered the house engulfed in flames.
Fountain Area Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Barry Ruger said two people occupied the home. One of the occupants suffered some smoke inhalation as a result of the fire but refused medical treatment. Another occupant was initially missing but later found elsewhere on the property.
Initial units responding included Fountain Area Fire Department, Scottville Fire Department, and Grant Fire & Rescue. Free Soil/Meade Fire Department and Hamlin Fire Departments were also called for full department responses. Custer Fire Department responded with the Mason County Rural Fire Authority air trailer and Ludington Fire Department assisted with its ladder truck.
Other emergency units on scene included Mason County Sheriff’s Office and Life EMS. Fountain Fire Department Auxiliary also assisted.
Fountain Road between Amber Road and US 31 was closed during the fire, and remained closed as of posting at 12:05 a.m.
