Realtors donate to Lakeshore Children’s Advocacy Center
PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Mason Oceana Manistee Board of Realtors recently donated two $1,000 grants to the Lakeshore Children’s Advocacy Center. The funds will be used to provide essential services to child abuse victims in each of its locations, in Ludington and Manistee.
Lakeshore Children’s Advocacy Center serves Manistee and Mason counties and provides a child-centered environment for children and their families who have experienced sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, or if a child has been a witness to violence. Through the work of the Lakeshore CAC, a team of child abuse professionals – including social workers, law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, medical examiners, and mental health professionals – are brought together to provide a coordinated response that best meets the needs of the child and family.
The Ludington office is located at 239 N. Jebavy Dr. The Manistee office is located at 385 Third St., Suite B.
“We are grateful for the generous support of the Mason Oceana Manistee Board of Realtors, which allows us to continue to provide high quality care and to ensure that abused children receive the services they need,” said Megan McCarthy, executive director of Lakeshore Children’s Advocacy Center.
“Working together with our partners in law enforcement, CPS, and prosecution, the Lakeshore CAC gives children a place to feel safe, to speak their truth, and to access the services and care they need so that they can do what they do best – be kids.”
