Co-worker assault results in broken jaw

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The victim of an assault by a co-worker received a broken jaw Friday, Aug. 11, shortly after 2 p.m. in the 5700 block of West Brookwood Place, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The following is other police activity in Mason County over the weekend:

Friday, Aug. 11, 2023:

• 6:50 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway south of Lenz Road, Pere Marquette Township.
• 9:40 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injury, US 10 west of Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township.
• ​3:46 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 44-year-old Ludington woman was arrested by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding 79th District Court warrant for failure to appear on a domestic violence charge. The woman was picked up in Lake County by a Ludington officer and then transported to the Mason County Jail.
• 12:49 p.m., (Michigan State Police), two-vehicle crash, minor injuries, Us 31 near Sugar Grove Road, Victory Township.
• 7:33 p.m., (LPD), a 44-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding 79th District Court warrant for failure to appear on a civil case, ​400 block of East Second Street​, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 7:50 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
• 8:33 p.m., (LPD), ​a 69-year-old Ludington man was arrested on two outstanding warrants issued by the 79th District Court for failure to appear on two separate charges, 500 block of East Lake Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023:

• 3:42 a.m., (LPD), a 21-year-old Ludington man was arrested for domestic assault, ​900 block of North Washington Ave​nue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail. The victim, a 22-year-old Ludington woman, had a bruise on her nose and left eye. She did not seek treatment. The suspect was not injured.
• 6:45 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Countyline Road east of Wild Wood Road, Grant Township.
• 8:58 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Millerton Road west of Larson Road, Sheridan Township.

Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023:

• 9:53 a.m., (LPD), ​a 33-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly conduct, Ludington Avenue and James​ Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 4:21 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Bryant Road, Pere Marquette Township.
• 9 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Monroe Street, Village of Custer.
