Obituary: Patricia Johnson, 87, of Ludington

Patricia Ann Johnson, 87, of Ludington and snowbird of Florida, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023.

Pat was born on March 25, 1936, the daughter of the late Robert William and Margaret (Richardson) Lyttle. Through hard work, Pat earned her GED. She was employed by Grand Haven Public Schools, working as a bus driver.

Pat loved life and loved people. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family in Florida during the winter months, and by summer back in Michigan. Pat was a hard worker, always willing to lend a hand. She often could be found washing dishes, drinking coffee, or having a smoke on the back deck. She loved sitting around the fire pit and enjoyed going to the casino with her sisters. Pat also enjoyed reading, usually completing a novel in one day. Pat was considered the “rock” for many of those around her. Her influence, depth of love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched forever. Pat did not realize how deeply her influence stretched; a humble woman she was. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Margaret Sweet of Ludington, and Cindy Bailey of Missouri; son-in-law, Brad Nye of Florida; grandchildren, Jen (Jeff) Stakenas of Scottville, Patrick (Sheila) Bailey of Missouri, Bobbi Sweet of Muskegon, Dana (Chris) Chadwick of Missouri, and Jospeh Sweet Jr. of Pennsylvania; numerous great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her son, Bill Busman; sister, Miriam Jane Deverney; and brother, Richard Lyttle.

Please celebrate with us as we remember the beautiful soul that was Pat, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at noon at Apostolic Christian Tabernacle, 190 N Meyers Rd., Ludington (Amber Township). We will sit around the table, enjoy some good food, and remanence, just as Pat had done with us so many times in the past. Feel free to bring a bouquet of flowers as Pat loved them on her table.

Arrangements were entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, www.OakGroveLudington.com.
