Zoning and Planning Commission
- Hamlin Township offered Zakarji Iverson the position of Hamlin Township zoning administrator. He will be starting his duties on August 1, 2023.
- The Hamlin Township Board of Trustees approved updated bylaws for the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Hamlin Township Planning Commission’s next meeting is scheduled for August 7, 2023 at 6 p.m.
Transfer Facility
- The Hamlin Township Board of Trustees thanked the volunteers who assisted at the 2023 Clean-up Day. There were 198 vouchers issued and 162 returned. There were six 30-yard dumpsters of trash filled and one metal bin.
- The Transfer Facility is open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Township requests that residents be courteous to the staff and have garbage and recycling disposed of by 5:55 p.m. to give the staff time to close up the bins and gate.
- The 2023-2024 Recycling Decals are available for purchase for this fiscal year which began April 1, 2023 and will run through March 31, 2024. The recycling decal is $20 for Hamlin Township residents.
Household waste
The Mason County Household Hazardous Waste is scheduled for Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mason County Road Commission on East State Street (US 10) in Scottville.
Old Business
- The Hamlin Township Board of Trustees awarded Swidorski Bros. Excavating, LLC the Long Skinny Park Improvement Project at a cost of $165,900.
- An outdoor amplified noise ordinance was reviewed and, on a 4-1 vote, the ordinance did not pass.
- The Board accepted a letter of resignation from Trustee Larry Rees effective July 13, 2023.
