51st Circuit Court sentencings, posted July 20, 2023

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court:
– Kevin Thomas Sturgeon, 56, pleaded guilty June 13, 2023 to two counts of larceny by conversion $1,000-$20,000 and was sentenced July 18, 2023 to 20 months to 40 years in prison, a concurrent one-year term and $943 in fines and costs.
– Michael Thomas Chick, 43, pleaded guilty June 6, 2023 to possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic and was sentenced July 18, 2023 to seven days in jail with credit for seven days served; two years probation; and $658 in fines and costs.
– Steven Geno Rice III, 26, pleaded guilty June 13, 2023 to methamphetamine possession, fleeing a police officer and driving while license suspended and was sentenced July 18, 2023 to one year in jail with credit for 215 days served; three years probation; and $716 in fines and costs. One count of reckless driving was dismissed.
– Nelson Edward Sanford, 25, pleaded guilty June 6, 2023 to possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic and operating while impaired was sentenced July 18, 2023 to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year probation; and $708 in fines and costs.Charges of operating while intoxicated and reckless driving were dismissed.
– Caleb Isiah Russell, 20, pleaded guilty May 23, 2023 to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced July 18, 2023 to 10 months in jail with credit for 153 days served; five years probation; and $658 in fines and costs.
– Daniel Gregory Mazeika, 42, pleaded guilty to failure to pay child support and received a delayed sentence July 18, 2023 of two days in jail with credit for two days served; 11 months probation; and $198 in fines and costs.
– Thomas Lee England, 33, pleaded guilty April 11, 2023 to a misdemeanor of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and was sentenced July 18, 2023 to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 18 months probation; and $658 in fines and costs. A felony of unlawful driving away of an automobile/car theft was dismissed.
– Viviana Perez, 39, pleaded guilty June 29, 2022 to a misdemeanor of brandishing a firearm in public and received a delayed sentence July 18, 2023 of one day in jail with credit for one day served. A felony of carrying a concealed weapon and misdemeanor charges of operating without insurance and driving while license suspended were dismissed.
