Domestic violence suspect captured after deputies issue ‘be on the lookout’ alert

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 39-year-old Flint man was spotted by a Lake County sheriff’s deputy during the early morning hours of Monday, March 6, after Mason County sheriff’s deputies issued a ‘be on the lookout’ (BOL) alert, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Mason County deputies responded to a 911 call reporting an assault around 1:30 a.m. in the 6700 block of West Virnetta Drive, but the suspect left the scene prior to their arrival. “However, once probable cause had been established to make an arrest, a ‘be on the lookout’ was put out for the suspect and his vehicle,” said Sheriff Cole. “A short time later, a Lake County deputy spotted and stopped the suspect. He was transported to the Mason/Lake county line and turned over to Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies.”
