Meth arrests top police activity

Mason County sheriff’s deputies made two methamphetamine possession arrests over the Thanksgiving holiday.

A 38-year-old Muskegon man was arrested for methamphetamine possession following a traffic stop at Pere Marquette Highway and Chauvez Road in Pere Marquette Township Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 10:40 p.m.  A 64-year-old Shelby man was arrested for methamphetamine possession following a traffic stop at Stiles and Hansen roads in Amber Township Thursday, Nov. 24, around 6 p.m., said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The following is other recent activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office:

Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022:

• 7:05 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Pleasant Ridge, Pere Marquette Township.
• 2:24 p.m., one-vehicle crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway north of Meisenheimer Road, Summit Township.
• 3:45 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Budde Road, Grant Township.
• 4:45 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Nurnberg Road and Federal Forest Road #5729, Grant Township.

Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022:

• 1:04 a.m., alarm activation, Amber Township.
• 7:57 a.m., a 43-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a bond violation following a 911 call reporting an “unwanted” person at a residence, 5700 block of Barton Road, Pere Marquette Township. Investigating deputies found the person in question to be intoxicated, which is a violation of his bond, said Sheriff Cole.
• 7:23 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Millerton Road, Sherman Township.
