Three men arrested for stealing $5,200 smoker from food truck.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Three local men were arrested by police Tuesday after allegedly stealing a smoker valued at $5,200 from a food truck at the 10 Spot food truck court on West US 10, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
The victim reported the theft of the Lone Star Smoker Grill at 6 a.m. Following an investigation, Michigan State Police troopers and Mason County sheriff’s deputies located the smoker in the 1100 block of North Amber Road shortly after 7 p.m., said Sheriff Cole.
A 25-year-old Scottville man and two Ludington men, ages 23 and 27, were arrested on theft charges and lodged in the Mason County Jail.
The following is other activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022:
- 6:24 p.m., gas drive-off, $51 in fuel stolen, Murphy USA, 4800 block of West US 10.
- 8:09 p.m., following a 911 call reporting a disturbance, a 41-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants issued by the Michigan State Police, Hart post, 3900 block of West US 10, Amber Township. The warrants are for misdemeanor charges of damaged property and domestic violence.
- 9:07 p.m., two-vehicle crash, minor injury, US 10 east of Nelson Road, Pere Marquette Township.
- 10:21 p.m., one-vehicle crash, no injury, Custer Road north of Fountain Road, Sherman Township. The driver struck a downed tree in the road.
