Obituary: Karen Thorne, 86, of Ludington.

Karen Thorne, 86, of Ludington formerly of Newaygo passed away peacefully August 24, 2022 at Oakview Medical Care Facility. She was born June 13, 1936 in Ludington to Carl and Vernice (French) Johnson. 

Karen loved music she played the bassoon, accordion, and piano. She also tuned pianos for large concerts. She liked to paint. In her younger days she owned a motel in Ludington. She enjoyed being one of Jehovah’s witnesses. 

Karen was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Laura; her sons, Charles and John; her grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew; her sister, Karlyn; her cousin, Lola who took special care of Karen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time.
