Obituary: Emma Hamilton, 81, of Ludington.
Emma Lee Hamilton, 81, of Ludington, formerly of Elwell, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022. She was born June 28, 1941 in St. Johns to Lester and Flossie (Dukes) Waldron. Emma graduated from Chesaning Union High School. Later in life, Emma received her degree in business and computers from Davenport University.
Emma married Paul Tkaczyk Jr. on July 11, 1959 and began her dream of a large family. Later she married Neal Hamilton on Aug 13, 1983. Emma worked many jobs over the years but her best job and greatest achievement was caring for her seven children.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, and sewing in early years and later enjoying euchre (or just about any card game), dancing, and bingo. She was very active at the St Louis VFW where she was a lifetime member of the ladies auxiliary. The VFW was a place she held many special friendships and memories. She loved being in the company of friends and family. No one was a stranger to Emma, she made friends everywhere and most will remember her as the woman with the jokes. She shared jokes right up to her last days. She always wanted to make someone smile.
She will be missed by those who survive her including her daughters, Rachel (Dave) Bendele, Katrina Tkaczyk and, Emma (Chuck) Miller; her sons, Nick (Edna) Tkaczyk, Joe Tkaczyk and, Paul Tkaczyk; her grandchildren, Alexis, Ellie, & Lane Bendele, Alaina Watson, Chazz (Alex) Miller, Teeya (Eric) Latz, Starr Dixon, Rachel Miller, Corey Miller, Nicholas Tkaczyk, Michael Tkaczyk, Wayland Tkaczyk, Claire Tkaczyk, Colton Tkaczyk, Joe Tkaczyk, Steve Tkaczyk, Tyler Tkaczyk, Ellery Tkaczyk; 31 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Barb Bouldin and Wendy (Gary) Jensen; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Waldron; her brothers, Dan (Betty) Waldron, LJ (Becky)Waldron, and George (Jeanette) Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Neal Hamilton; son Robert (Bobby) Tkaczyk; daughter, JoAnn Tkaczyk; grandson, James Watson; sisters Joyce Hyde, Freda Lowery, and Maxine Hitchcock; brothers Randy Waldron, Emery Waldron, and Terry Waldron.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the St. Louis VFW. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, www.oakgroveludington.com.
