By Rob Alway, Editor-in-Chief
AMBER TOWNSHIP — A fire destroyed a house and damaged three other houses Thursday afternoon. Firefighters were dispatched to 3673 W. Hidden Forest Circle at 4:05 p.m. for a report of an attached garage on fire. That fire quickly spread to the home while the heat from the flames damaged adjacent houses, including melting the vinyl siding off the house across the street.
Pere Marquette Township Fire Department and Scottville Fire Department were initially dispatched with air trailer support later from Custer Fire Department. Other emergency units on scene included Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police and Life EMS. American Red Cross was also dispatched to assist the victims.
