Free Soil man shot in Filer Township.
FILER TOWNSHIP (Manistee County) — A 31-year-old Free Soil man was injured during a shooting incident that occurred about 10 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022 in the 2200 block of Maple Road, near Adamczak Road. According to Manistee County Sheriff Brian Gutowski, a 37-year-old Manistee man was arrested following the incident. Gutowski said there is no threat to the public. The scene is being processed by the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.
Gutowski said the shooting victim was transported by ambulance to Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The Manistee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Manistee Police Department, Little River Band of Ottawa Indians Tribal Police, Michigan State Police, Manistee Fire Department and Manistee Central Dispatch.
The incident remains under investigation.
