Vehicle rear-ends bus.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A school bus was rear-ended by a vehicle while the bus was slowing down to pick up a child Friday, Feb. 25, shortly after 7 a.m. on Jebavy Drive south of Rasmussen Road, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. No injuries were reported.

In a separate crash, a 45-year-old Shelby area woman received non-life-threatening injuries after the vehicle she was a passenger in left the roadway and struck a power pole Saturday, Feb. 26, shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Sugar Grove Road east of Darr Road in Sherman Township. The woman was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by Life EMS. The driver, a 36-year-old Fountain, man also received minor injuries, said Sheriff Cole.

  • 8:34 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 32-year-old Muskegon man was arrested on failure to appear warrant, US 31 and Beyer Road, Sherman Township.
  • 11:24 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Decker and Tall Oaks roads, Hamlin Township.
  • 5:03 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Summit Township.
  • 7:19 p.m., (MCSO), a 29-year-old Ludington man was arrested on two outstanding Oceana County warrants following a traffic stop, Benson and Decker roads, Sheridan Township.  One warrant charged failure to appear, and the second warrant was a criminal bench warrant.
  • ​8:57 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), ​a 34-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding resisting and obstructing police warrant issued by the 79th District Court, 800 block of St. Catherine Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022:

  • 12:55 a.m., (LPD), ​a 38-year-old Corning, Ohio man was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), Rowe and Filer​ streets, City of Ludington.
  • 1:19 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Quarterline and Hoague roads, Grant Township.
  • ​2:37 a.m., (LPD), a 31-year-old Ludington man was cited for DWLS, Washington Avenue and Dowland​ Street, City of Ludington.
  • ​3:49 a.m., (LPD), ​a  31-year-old Ludington man was cited for DWLS, Rath and Tinkham avenues, City of Ludington.
  • 12:40 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Griffin Road, Sheridan Township.
  • 6:40 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive north of Abrahamson Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 8:12 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Fisher Road, Hamlin Township.
  • ​8:13 p.m., (LPD), ​a 31-year-old Fountain man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for false pretenses, 400 block of South Harrison Street, City of Ludington. He was “holding himself out as a contractor, but has no contractor’s license,” said Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 9:58 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.

  • 8:34 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Victory Corners Road north of Fisher Road, Victory Township.
  • 9:38 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 east of Stiles Road, Amber Township.
  • 10:18 p.m., (LPD), a 40-year-old Free Soil man was cited for DWLS, ​Ludington Avenue and James​ Street, City of Ludington.
