51st Circuit Court sentencings, posted Jan. 29, 2022.

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court:

Daniel Bothwell

– Daniel Lee Bothwell, 45, of 2782 N. 21st St., Sheridan Township, pleaded guilty on Nov. 23, 2021 for the following counts: domestic violence knowing victim was pregnant; assault with a dangerous weapon; habitual offender – fourth offense; malicious destruction of property less than $200; breaking and entry; habitual offender – third offense. He was sentenced to two to 10 years in prison for the domestic violence charge; two to 15 years for the assault charge, along with 216 days imprisonment for the MDOP charge and 90 days for the breaking and entry charge and $556 in fines and fees. TerHaar

– Joseph Benjamin Terhaar, 35, of 945 N. Tyndall Rd., Branch Township, pleaded guilty on Dec. 4, 2021 to unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle and sentenced to one year of discretionary jail time, serving eight months up front with credit for 71 days served, $1,138.36 in fines and fees and 24 months of probation.. A charge of larceny in a building was dismissed. 

Willoughby

– Jack Daniel Willoughby, 26, of 618 1/2 E. Melendy St., Ludington, pleaded guilty on July 22, 2021 for controlled substance, methamphetamine and was sentenced to 52 days in jail, 12 months probation and $658 fines/fees. 

Austin

– Zachary Scott Austin, 34, of 151 Wildwood Dr., Apartment 8, Amber Township, pleaded guilty on Nov. 23, 2021 for aggravated stalking and malicious destruction of property valued and $200 or more. Sentencing for count one was delayed for 11 months, to run concurrent with count 2 which was one year discretionary jail time, court imposed for one day, credit for one day, $708 fines/fees; no contact with victim. 

Petersen

– Russell Warren Petersen, 51, of 902 N. Washington Ave., Apt. B, Ludington, pleaded guilty on Nov. 23, 2021 to criminal sexual conduct fourth degree and was sentenced to two days in jail with credits for two days served, two years probation and $658 fines/fees.

Esparza-Kenyon

– Julianita Esparza-Kenyon, 26, of 3884 N. Lakeshore Dr., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty on Nov. 19, 2021 to controlled substance, methamphetamine and was sentenced to two days in jail with two days served, one year probation and $658 fines/fees.

Hammer

– Nicholas Anthony Hammer, 34, of 501 N. Washington Ave., Ludington, pleaded guilty on Nov. 30, 2021 to aggravated stalking and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail time, serving 132 days up front with credit for 132 days served, $658 fines/fees, no contact with victim. 

Wcisel

– Carley Ann Wcisel, 23, of 1444 N. Custer Rd., Custer Township, pleaded guilty on Nov. 23, 2021 to two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and was sentenced to 147 days in jail with credit for 147 days served, 18 months probation, and $598 fines/fees.
