LUDINGTON — A total of 800 free rides were provided to New Year’s Eve revelers by the Ludington Mass Transportation Authority, according to Ludington Police Department Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski, along with 150 free rides by Judy’s Lakeside Rides. Six cars also received free towing. The program was sponsored by various community organizations and businesses.
Two operating while intoxicated arrests were made in Mason County on New Year’s Eve, according to Mason County Jail records.
Activity of the Ludington Police Department Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022 includes:
- 12:23 a.m., a 29-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, 300 block of East Court Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail after being treated at the Spectrum Ludington ER for a self-inflicted injury due to striking his own head on the patrol car safety partition, according to Cpt. Wietrzykowski.
- 1:28 a.m., a 24-year-old Fountain man was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), Filer Street and Rath Avenue, City of Ludington.
- 3:48 a.m., a 23-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, 400 block of East Melendy Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 9:42 a.m., a 40-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued by Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court, 800 block of North Emily Street, City of Ludington. The original charge was possession of narcotics. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 4:16 p.m., a 29-year-old Ludington woman was cited for DWLS, First and Madison streets, City of Ludington.
