LUDINGTON — The following criminal proceedings took place recently in Mason County’s 79th District Court:
Felony Arraignments
-Kimberly Ellis Koslow, 51, of 6372 E. Ridge Ave., Sheridan Township, was arrested Nov. 16 by Michigan State Police on a felony charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and a misdemeanor charge of transporting an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle. Probable cause hearing: Dec. 1 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000 cash.
-Zachary Allen Reiss, 20, of 128 W. State St., Scottville, was arrested Oct. 13 by Michigan State Police on felony charges of breaking and entering a building with intent and breaking and entering without owner’s permission. Probable cause hearing: Dec. 1 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $500 personal recognizance.
-Joseph Benjamin Terhaar, 35, of 3160 N. Amber Rd., Victory Township, was arrested Sept. 6 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office on a felony charge of unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle. Probable cause hearing: Dec. 1 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $1,000 cash.
-Bret David Zacharda, 51, of PO Box 735, Ludington, was arrested Nov. 15 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy). Probable cause hearing: Dec. 1 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $100 cash.
Misdemeanor Arraignments
-Timothy Virgil Amburgey, 55, of 1728 E. Hansen Rd., Custer Township; Nov. 14; Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO); operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) second offense. Pretrial: Dec. 13 at 11:30 a.m. Bail: $500 cash.
Sentencings
-London Dacquiri Cage, 52, of 105 S. Wildwood Xing, Apt. 3, Amber Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to 14 days in jail with credit for 14 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; must continue current counseling program; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $715 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of operating without a license was dismissed.
-Anthony Wayne Smith, 66, of 1388 W. Sugar Grove Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 12 to abandoning/cruelty to an animal and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $595 in fines/costs. May perform 30 hours of community service in lieu of paying $300 worth of fines/costs.
-Patricia JoAnn Warren, 61, of 6619 White Rd., Muskegon, pleaded no contest Nov. 12 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days discretional jail for one year and $472.23 in fines/costs/restitution.
