Man injured in assault after being hit in the head with metal object.
BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A 26-year-old Manistee man was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital Thursday, Oct. 14, shortly after 9 p.m. after he was assaulted in the 6100 block of East US 10, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
Arriving deputies found the man “bleeding from a head injury, reportedly caused by a strike to the head with a metal object,” said Sheriff Cole. The head injury is not considered life threatening.
The suspect fled the scene but has been identified. The case remains under investigation.
