Medical disposal event is Oct. 23 at fairgrounds. 

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A medication disposal event will be held at the Mason County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 9  a.m. to noon. The event is being organized by the Leeward Initiative, a local coalition working to prevent substance abuse in Mason County. 

Volunteers will be on-hand for the drive-thru event to take back unused and expired medications, sharps, and vaping devices.

The event is partnered by Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, West Michigan Community Mental Health, District Health Department #10, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Ludington Police Department, Scottville Department, and Michigan State Police.
